Each year, riders from all around the world come together in one place to face one of the most extreme off-road races on the planet: Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. It’s more than just a race – it’s a real challenge of strength, skill, and mental toughness.
Before we dive into 2025, let’s take a moment to relive the action from Erzbergrodeo 2024.
Thousands of fans, hundreds of riders, and one legendary mountain – it was a weekend to remember.
Check out our full recap of last year’s madness below and feel the energy that makes Erzberg so special.
What Makes Erzbergrodeo So Special?
From professional factory riders to amateurs and hobby racers, over 1,500 riders try their luck – but only 500 get a spot in the main event. The goal? Conquer the legendary “Iron Giant” – the massive mountain that has broken even the best in the sport.
The Erzbergrodeo is known for its wild mix of speed, rocks, hills, mud, and pure chaos. Riders must give 110% to make it through.
Four Days of Full Throttle Action
Erzbergrodeo is not just one race. It’s a full four-day experience with different events, each with its own flavor.
1. Blåkläder Iron Road Prologue
This is the first test. Riders must go flat-out on a fast and rocky gravel track. It takes less than 15 minutes, but it decides who will move on to the main event. Only the fastest survive.
2. Mitas Rocket Ride
A crazy uphill sprint. Six riders start together and try to make it to the top of a steep, multi-level hill. Only three move forward from each heat. It’s fast, chaotic, and a favorite for the crowd. Even just watching it is unforgettable.
3. Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Main Race
The final race is the heart of it all. Riders get four hours to fight through one of the hardest courses in off-road racing. They’ll face famous sections like Carl’s Dinner, Downtown, Green Hell, and Lazy Noon. Each one is harder than the last. Only a few finish. Many don’t even get close.
More Than Racing
Erzberg is also about the people. During the One-on-One Rider Presentation, fans can meet their heroes up close. There’s also the legendary Rodeo Night Party, where riders, fans, and teams relax and celebrate together. It’s a full community experience.
