On August 30th, the Red Bull Tyne Ride returns to Newcastle’s Quayside — and this year promises to be even bigger.
Last year’s debut was unforgettable. Thousands of fans packed the Quayside, watching the world’s best hard enduro riders throw themselves at a brutal, action-sports-inspired course. The roar of engines, the chaos of head-to-head battles, and the electric atmosphere turned the Tyne Ride into an instant classic.
For 2025, things step up another level!
-
Jonny Walker returns as the reigning Tyne Ride champion, but there’s a twist — this time, he’s racing on a Triumph. A new bike, but the same hunger to defend his crown.
-
Billy Bolt, the five-time SuperEnduro World Champion and Newcastle’s own, is back on home ground. He’s not just racing; he’s helping design the event. Nobody knows this course better.
-
Manuel Lettenbichler, fresh from dominating Erzbergrodeo and Romaniacs once again, is ready to throw his KTM into the mix.
-
Add in legends like Taddy Blazusiak, Cody Webb, Jack Price, and more — and the lineup is stacked with world-class talent.
History in the Making
This year also marks a huge milestone: the first-ever female riders will line up at Tyne Ride.
-
Rosie Rowett, fresh off a win at the FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship in August, is ready to test herself against the brutal Newcastle track.
-
Chloe Richardson, another rising British star, will join her in making history.
As Rosie puts it: “I’m really excited to be involved in Tyne Ride and the opportunity for female riders to get involved in a Red Bull event. The course looks hard! But I can’t wait to give it a go and challenge myself.”
Electric Power Returns
The electric revolution continues, too. Eddie Karlsson wowed the crowd last year with his Stark VARG, and he’s back again — fresh off a top-5 finish in the 2025 SuperEnduro World Championship. Expect fireworks from the silent assassin.
The Course
Stretching the length of the Quayside, the Tyne Ride track blends the toughest ideas from motocross, enduro, mountain biking, and BMX. Brutal sections like the boulder garden, log matrix, and the iconic Igloo Wall Ride will push every rider to the edge. Three rounds, head-to-head eliminations, and no room for mistakes.
What’s New in 2025?
-
More riders: 14 pros and 10 wildcards (up from 8 last year).
-
Walker racing with Triumph for the first time.
-
Rowett & Richardson — the first women to ever race Tyne Ride.
-
A second year of Stark electric bikes shaking things up.
Free to Watch
The best part? Just like last year, the event is free for the public. If you’re anywhere near Newcastle on August 30th, you’ll want to be trackside.
