KTM has officially unveiled the 2026 KTM 300 EXC HARDENDURO, a bike born straight from the toughest stages of the Hard Enduro World Championship and refined for those who crave extreme terrain.
Since its first appearance in 2024, the HARDENDURO edition has become a fan favourite, carrying the DNA of KTM’s Factory Racing program and inspired by the relentless success of Manuel Lettenbichler. For 2026, KTM didn’t just update the graphics – it refined the suspension, cooling system, and overall ergonomics, pushing the bike’s performance to new limits.
Built for the Brutal Stuff
The HARDENDURO takes the proven 300 cc two-stroke EXC platform and layers it with PowerParts and technical upgrades specifically for the world’s toughest climbs, riverbeds, and rock gardens.
-
WP XACT Closed-Cartridge fork gets lighter, shorter springs, new damping settings, a redesigned pressure reservoir, and a one-piece hydro stop, saving 200 grams at the front end while improving feel on sharp hits.
-
A revised WP XPLOR PDS rear shock keeps the balance in check through punishing terrain.
-
Cooling upgrades include a new radiator cap with standard threading for quicker, tool-free access, and a radiator fan fitted as standard to keep the engine running at optimal temps during slow, technical climbs.
-
A CPC fuel-connector protection cap now shields the connector from dirt and accidental knocks.
HARDENDURO-Specific Components
KTM made sure this edition stands apart visually and functionally:
-
Orange gloss frame with black anodized triple clamps
-
Factory wheel set – black rims & spokes with orange hubs and nipples
-
Factory frame protectors & skid plate
-
Ribbed factory seat for extra grip
-
Grey ODI extra-soft lock-on grips and closed handguards
-
Floating front brake disc & solid rear disc with guards and safety wire
-
Pull straps, orange clutch-slave protection, orange oil plug – the small details that count in real Hard Enduro conditions
Fresh Factory Look
As much as the hardware matters, KTM knows style counts too. The 2026 HARDENDURO debuts a white-and-black graphic kit contrasted with KTM’s iconic orange frame and scattered PowerParts that make it stand out in the paddock or on the trail.
Race-Bred Pedigree
“With Manuel Lettenbichler already chasing his fifth world title, the HARDENDURO edition remains his weapon of choice – and now it’s sharper than ever,” KTM states in their release.
The bike carries Euro 5+ homologation, making it legal for the trails but race-ready straight out of the crate. Units will begin rolling off the Mattighofen production line in September 2025, giving riders just enough time to get their hands on one before the next season of races and winter training.
Enduro Channel’s Take
When KTM first introduced the HARDENDURO edition, few expected it to carve out such a strong identity so quickly. The 2026 updates might look subtle on paper, but improvements to the suspension and cooling system should make a real difference where it counts — in tough terrain.
We think this bike will appeal not only to racers but also to weekend riders who love technical trails. As always, price and availability will decide how many riders get to put one in their garage.
