Spanish hard enduro rider Mario Román has officially announced the end of his long partnership with the Sherco Factory Team, closing an important chapter of his professional career after nine years with the brand.
In an official statement shared on social media, Román explained that the decision was not an easy one. Sherco had offered him the possibility to continue for several more seasons, but after deep personal and professional reflection, he felt the time had come to explore new paths, take on new challenges, and gain more freedom in shaping his future as a rider.
Nine years of growth and memories
Román described his time with Sherco as extraordinary, highlighting nearly a decade of growth, learning, strong results, and unforgettable travels around the world. Representing the brand across international hard enduro events, he became one of the most recognisable riders in the discipline while also playing a key role in the team’s journey.
He also took time to thank several people who were instrumental during his Sherco years, including team management and technical staff, emphasising the trust, support, and close working relationships built over the seasons.
Respect for Sherco and the sport
Despite moving on, Román made it clear that his respect for Sherco remains strong. He stated that he has always defended, and will continue to defend, the work Sherco does for hard enduro and for its riders. Wearing the Sherco colours for almost a decade is something he says will always be part of his sporting history.
What’s next
While no details have yet been revealed, Román confirmed that a new chapter is already underway. He will continue competing in the Hard Enduro World Championship and other international events, with new projects in progress that he plans to share soon.
After nine memorable years, one era ends, and another begins.
