Suzuki has unveiled its much-anticipated DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models, the spiritual successors to the popular DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM. Launched today, November 5, at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, these models cater to both dual-sport and supermoto enthusiasts with an array of impressive features.

New Engine and Performance

At the heart of the new DR-Z4 series lies a completely redesigned 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine. Built to meet Euro 5B standards, this engine maintains the renowned durability of the DR-Z400 while delivering stronger torque at lower rpm, better fuel efficiency, and smooth power output. It produces a peak of 38PS and 37Nm of torque, balancing agility with high performance.

Advanced Electronics

The DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models are equipped with a suite of electronics aimed at enhancing ride enjoyment. The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) offers three distinct power modes. Mode A provides the most direct power delivery, while Modes B and C offer softer power for low-traction conditions. Additionally, two standard traction control modes, along with G (Gravel) Mode, are available. This off-road mode permits some wheel slip for optimal performance on rough terrain.

The DR-Z4S model is equipped with an advanced ABS system, allowing riders to disable ABS on the rear or both wheels for off-road adventures. Meanwhile, the DR-Z4SM model is optimized for supermoto performance, providing a tailored on-road experience.

Durable Chassis and Suspension System

Both DR-Z4 models feature a newly developed twin-spar steel frame paired with an aluminum subframe and aluminum swingarm. This new design maintains the agility and maneuverability of the previous DR-Z400 models, while offering greater durability and impact absorption. The DR-Z4S is equipped with long-travel suspension for off-road riding, while the DR-Z4SM is tuned specifically for supermoto agility.

Design and Ergonomics

Inspired by Suzuki’s RM-Z series, the DR-Z4 models feature LED lighting throughout. The DR-Z4S comes in Champion Yellow and Solid Iron Grey color options, while the DR-Z4SM stands out with Sky Grey and Solid Special White options. Suzuki’s sleek, modern “DR-Z” decals add a finishing touch to the design.

Quick Specs:

  • Engine Output: 38PS, 37Nm torque
  • Wheel Sizes: 21” front and 18” rear (DR-Z4S); 17” wheels (DR-Z4SM)
  • Power Modes: A, B, C modes
  • Traction Control Modes: 2 standard modes + G (Gravel) Mode
  • ABS Options: Front/rear ABS disengagement (DR-Z4S); rear ABS disengagement (DR-Z4SM)
  • Weight: DR-Z4S – 151 kg, DR-Z4SM – 154 kg

With Suzuki’s new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models, you’re set to elevate your riding experience—whether it’s on the road or off! Available globally from February 2025.
