Red Bull Romaniacs, one of the toughest and most respected hard enduro races in the world, will return for its 22nd edition in 2025. This year’s event is not just another race—it marks the beginning of a new era with the theme: “Game Changer.”
Four New Racing Categories Announced
For the first time ever, Red Bull Romaniacs is opening its doors to multi-cylinder adventure bikes and electric enduro motorcycles, introducing four brand-new race classes:
-
Adventure Ultimate
-
Adventure Lite
-
eMoto Expert
-
eMoto Hobby
These new categories bring a fresh, multi-discipline approach to the event, pushing the limits of what’s possible in hard enduro racing.
Adventure Classes: Built for Big Bikes
The new Adventure Ultimate and Adventure Lite classes are specially designed for large, multi-cylinder adventure motorcycles.
-
The Ultimate class will challenge riders with technical sections, steep climbs, and tough terrain. Riders must be experienced and well-prepared.
-
The Lite class offers more manageable but still demanding tracks, including scenic gravel roads, forest trails, and mountain ridges.
Former Track Director Klaus Suciu Sørensen returns to help create routes tailored for adventure bikes in the beautiful and wild Carpathian Mountains.
eMoto Classes: Electric Bikes Make History
Red Bull Romaniacs 2025 will also be the first multi-day hard enduro race to officially include electric motorcycles.
-
eMoto Expert riders will race on Silver Class-level tracks and take part in the famous city Prologue.
-
eMoto Hobby riders will compete on Iron Class tracks and may skip the Prologue, though racing it gives a better start time on Offroad Day 1.
Organizers are working on charging infrastructure and battery strategies, making this a major step forward for electric off-road racing.
A Look Back at 2024!
The 2024 “Limitless” edition saw some incredible moments:
-
Manuel Lettenbichler won his 5th Romaniacs title.
-
Teo Kabakchiev finished 2nd, and Mario Roman came in 3rd.
-
Jonny Walker returned to the race after a four-year break and won the city Prologue.
Walker has been riding strong with Triumph in the SuperEnduro series—will we see him on the 2025 start line?
New Prologue for Big Bikes
Prologue Director Andy Fazekas is designing a more accessible urban Prologue track to allow Adventure Ultimate and Lite riders to race in front of thousands of fans and enjoy their own “Hollywood moment.”
