Scorching heat, brutal climbs, and tactical brilliance marked the opening stage of Offroad Day 1 at Red Bull Romaniacs 2025. Riders from across all classes faced relentless terrain and technical sections deep in the Carpathian wilderness. And in the Gold Class, it was Manuel Lettenbichler (DEU, KTM) who set the tone early.
Gold Class: Lettenbichler Sets the Pace
Starting first into the mountains, Lettenbichler maintained his lead over the entire 121 km route. Despite mounting pressure from behind, he stayed focused, navigating the rock drops and steep descents with clean lines and smooth speed—his signature advantage.
Behind him, Teo Kabakchiev (BUL, Sherco) and Billy Bolt (GBR, Husqvarna) were locked in a “cat and mouse” battle until the finish, coming in just a minute apart. Mario Roman (ESP, Sherco) kept the top three in sight all day.
The LIVEmaniacs Stage featured the dramatic “Martial Arts” quarry section. Riders completed three laps, with Mario Roman setting the fastest time—unsurprising given his climbing skills.
