This 2020 SuperEnduro World Championship season marks the 7th edition of the Super Pole powered by Akrapovic, which serves as an appetiser for the spectators before the crazy races kick off. The riders who set the best seven lap times from the Timed Practice sessions, have to vie for a hot lap in the early evening, in order to gain the best spots behind the start gate. The first Akrapovic Super Pole of the season, in Poland, did not disappoint…
While Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL – KTM) clocked a smooth and fast lap (35.639), earning himself provisional first place following on from the laps set by Alfredo GOMEZ (E – Husqvarna), Pol TARRES (E – Husqvarna), William HOARE (GB – KTM ) and Xavi LEON SOLE (E – Husqvarna). The Pole was not counting on the two Brits, Jonny WALKER (GB – KTM) and Billy BOLT (GB – Husqvarna)!
The factory Husqvarna rider took top honours in the Super Pole powered by Akrapovic with a stunning lap and a time of 33.726. His compatriot gave everything to clock the fastest time, but he fell short by just 6 hundredths of a second (34.344).
Despite his lap beating local hero, BLAZUSIAK, the crowd cheered BOLT as the youngster thrilled them with his masterful technique and all-action style.
The 2020 edition of the Akrapovic Super Pole got off to a flying start in front of 14,000 spectators in the Tauron Arena. First blood goes to BOLT, but it will be exciting to see how the race for top spot in the standings develops, as the riders hunt down the cheque and the honour of being ‘Mr. Super Pole’.
